Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Have you got any photos ? My only slight reservation is cordovan has much less stretch and pliability in my experience. I have about a dozen pairs and they do mould to your foot but takes a while. If they have already moulded to another foot they may take a while to remould to your foot shape...

    Church's Appreciation Thread

I think they hold up well and I am not sure about people stating it is a plasticised finish. These Keats loafers are over 30 years old! They were the shoes of choice working in The City in the 80’s and 90’s. Don’t wear them much these days. Have a few cracks but nothing too dramatic.

    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

I have used Practical Tailor for over 15 years and always found them great. I lived in HK for many years and now live in the UK and they make Suits, jackets, trousers and shirts and ship straight to UK using measurements on file. I think slightly cheaper than TPR. Ask for Andy.

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

Certainly at Garsington most people will be wearing evening wear. If you are never planning on wearing again have you thought of hiring when you get here. Have a look at Buckleigh who are a distinct notch above the regular High Street places. Classic stuff and great service. Have a look. See...

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

Any thoughts on Hawes & Curtis? I thought a decent off the peg DJ would be pricey but this is quite reasonable. Can't comment on the quality at H&C but not a big fan of belt loops on dinner suit trousers. I was in Oliver Brown the other day as round the corner from my London place and stuff...

That's a pain. Still like to see the actual boots though!!! Not sure how carmina shoe trees are made but do the steel pins have springs at all so you push against the front part to give more wiggle room? Maybe the spring bit is a bit stiff/stuck.

Boots Boots Boots - For Boot Guys Only

In my experience side zip boots tend to be slightly taller with a similar look with no pull tabs. Like these from carmina. https://www.carminashoemaker.com/zip-boots-box-calf-black-80688

I feel your pain. If I recall your shoes are crocodile yes?? This means that not only do you need an CITES export certificate (that Carmina should do and presumably have done as the shoes have left Spain) but a matching CITES import certificate that you would also assume Carmina would do!! In my...

Not sure. I have both. Left photo of burgundy 80578 on Genova and right photo of bourbon 80440 on Pina. Your shoe 80578 that was meant to be on Pina looks very similar to my 80578 that was on Genova.

No sign of the pair I ordered. Was told in November it was ‘in production’

Oh dear ! Was that part of the order or just a substitution ? Like when you order groceries on line and they are out of dishwasher tablets and send you carrots as an alternative instead!!

I had a similarly frustrating issue ordering a pair of loafers with a crocodile strap. Was told that all CITES paperwork was in order. To cut a long story short the shoes were seized by UK customs and destroyed as incorrect paperwork and customs told me that on this occasion they wouldn't...

Very hit or miss. Frustrating. Have you tried the live chat as I seem to have better luck?
