Soft leather jackets in the $500 to $1,000 price range?

    I'd have a look at Atacama: https://barrocoitalia.com/en/artisans/atacama/

Quality of this wallet I purchased?

It's obviously not handstitched, come on... I don't know much about cordovan made up as small leather goods like that, but I find it odd that the edges are left bare (no edge paint). That turquoise lining hardly inspires confidence either.

    Repairing CP sneakers

The Margom piece of garbage that acts as an outsole on my sneakers has worn through after a couple of years and the insole is damaged too. Do you think it's worth repairing? The leather upper is still in fairly good condition.

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

I'm no expert, but I think it's because it has no natural springiness and doesn't recover once it's been stretched, unless you wash it. After one or two wears, the sleeves sag at the cuffs, etc... Wool is a much better fiber for knitwear, and I think cotton too.

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

While the photos on PS aren't always color-accurate, I wouldn't say they're "graded", let alone to the nth degree. That said, I also find the cream a bit too yellowish and would prefer something with a little gray in it. Maybe this one by the Anthology is a bit better in that regard. Linen...

    Shawl collar cardigan recommendations

I haven't handled it in person so can't comment, but I'm confident Simon's ones are the best quality there can be. Personally I've never heard or read a bad comment about the SC cardigans. Bear in mind too that O'Connells could have requested a cheaper yarn, a different finishing, etc.

    Shawl collar cardigan recommendations

Lockie makes for Drake's, Frans Boone, and quite a few others. Scott & Charters makes for Colhays, Winston & Co, HnWhite, Cloth and Cut, etc., as well as O'Connell and Permanent Style as far as I know.

MEGA PEACOAT THREAD - 61 threads merged - all Peacoat questions HERE

For what it's worth I've had the exact same problem with the PWVC peacoat: tight in the shoulders and back, too big in the waist. I'm 5'9'', 42'' chest, 30'' waist, and went for a size 4.

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

Not to mention most mills around the world, including Scotland and Italy, use Shima Seiki machines... I have a lambswool cardigan from OmniGod. I don't know who made it (are they a manufacturer or just a brand?), but it seems as well-made and durable as my Scottish-made pieces.

Speaking of Japanese knits, does anybody know who the best Japanese manufacturers are?

Dalmo is cheaper than that I think.

    Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

Still a bit above my head... But you definitely should make me a cardigan! I feel the same way. I replaced the stuffy leather buttons with horn ones, but it does feel a bit weak. I'm thinking about adding a button on the back, which would probably make the whole thing stronger. Could you post...
