Yeah they use it in commercial/industrial work so they can stuff 10 lbs of sh1t in a 5 lb bag. Before I retired they started just leaving the ceilings and cubicles out of a lot of the newer tech buildings which sure made our work easier plus we got to show it off.- Numbernine

You mean T bar? I've never seen that in a house. A traditional drop ceiling in a house would be sheet rock and studs or lath and plaster in older ones- Numbernine

I worked with a sh1t ton of guys who built their own homes. I even considered it myself, I did some additions, converted a garage and gutted a bathroom myself while working full time + but never a new home.
