SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

Frankly speaking I have no idea - I sold mine and I never bothered to measure the rise. But 30 cm for front rise seems about right

SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

I bought a pair and they are extremely high rise making me look ridiculous - they create an effect of very long legs and short torso. I guess they'll work great on someone who actually has a short legs

SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

All half canvased suits in a light weight fabric have the entire front panel fused, not just the bottom half. There is no sense to do that with a heavier fabrics. And yes, fusing can give you bubbling on a half canvased suit, especially after the dry cleaning

    "**** cuffs" on a blazer?

It's an unfinished sleeve so it would be easy for tailor to alter sleeves to your desired length and then putting buttons on it without ruin any proportion

Not selvedge. They are pretty low rise and quite skinny. I was very disappointed :( And this is coming from someone who wears slim fit jeans

    Berg and Berg

Pini Parma if you like shorter jackets Cavour is made in China but their quality is so much higher than Berg & Berg that it is silly to compare them. I think the issue with Cavour is that their models wear an oversized jackets and so they look odd. I have to size down in my jacket size in...

    Spring outerwear for classic style?

It only works if you go out for a walk. If you want to go inside and wear a jacket, tweed would be too hot

    Spring outerwear for classic style?

When it comes to what to wear over a suit or a sport coat in spring I don't see many options besides a Trench or a Mac coat over the suit or a field/safari jacket over a sport coat for a more casual look. This is a quite limited selection. Am I missing something here?

    100Hands

That linen slab looks fine to me. It's the way it is supposed to be for this casual fabric. You can find a more refined linen on the market but this one is supposed to look this way 🤷

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

    Linen Safari Jacket

Stop policing what we should or should not say. Safari jacket is an established name for many decades and the term did not become meaningless

    100Hands

Your shirt has hand made button holes, it takes a lot of time to make them. The "bumps" you are complaining about are just a regular linen texture. P.S. For RTW shirts they are cut in bulk and it would take 15 to 30 minutes to cut a few dozens of shirts. It all depends if there is a need to...
