Thanks, and also to @K. Nights Yes, William Lockie great tip. I also wear them a lot, bought from Frans Boone as well. I had checked them already but they are also more expensive at Frans Boone (even with my discount as a long standing customer of theirs!). Didn’t know about the other shop!

Question: I’m looking for a cheaper alternative to Drake’s merino wool v neck navy jumper. Anyone know a good alternative, preferably below 200 euro? (Instead of 395 at Drake’s…) https://www.drakes.com/products/navy-merino-wool-v-neck-jumper-1?variant=43309230620885

No, not the Drake’s one. It’s a nice jacket, but not at that price. Plus you can get a similar jungle jacket from other suppliers, eg Orslow. And hardcore fashionistas will respect you more if you just buy vintage, lots of nice ones on marrkt...

I think this is Brexit related, as this happened with me as well a few times, around 2020-2021. I live in the euro area. I believe the UK renegotiated things with us pretty quickly because this period of not being refunded back the tax only lasted a few months at most.

i like the wool chore a lot. It’s thick enough to be worn in spring and autumn, but I can also wear it when it’s warm outside. Last Saturday I wore mine when it was 23 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, with just a poplin shirt. Not ideal (linen which I also have would be better) but this time...

For the first time in ages, I feel I have pretty much everything I want from a non-business wardrobe. So, hopefully, Drake’s won’t be coming out with great stuff lol… :) Then again, I would probably still jump on a linen field jacket, as pictured below...

Not what you had asked for, but… For a navy chore coat, I’d also consider the wool or linen version. Both are imho worth the extra price versus the canvas and twill. The regular wool is my favourite because it is so versatile: from being worn as a semi formal navy jacket/blazer, as outerwear in...

Yes, Chelsea boots too, like my beloved YSL Hedi Slimane I have been wearing almost a decade now (?!, didn’t realise been so long). Not as comfortable as Aldens though. And then the two items from the archive sale: the red fleece and the red scarf. Both lovely pieces. Fleece is a size XL: I...

I have a bunch of William Lockie roll necks, which I wear all the time. I wash them after say 6 wears, 10 at most. Just in my Siemens front loader, wool program 30 degrees Celsius, and laid flat to dry.

The fit of this jacket is meant to be short. I am a regular size 42 and mine fits good, that is it fits slouchy, but even if I wear it over a blazer, the jacket will usually be a few centimeters shorter than the blazer. I don’t really mind. The coverall should imho be worn as a coverall, so it...

Looks fine to me. Not every item needs to fit perfectly fine. Imho it’s nice to have a mix of slouchy and normal fitting items. I got the boucle fleece from the archivesale, size xl. It fits just a tad too big, so an L would have worked too. But I’m happy with this one, and then I’ll just get...

Another poster here also experienced significantly different actual sizes versus those advertised in the archivesale, and got a refund. I suggest emailing Drake’s before trying to resell.

As for denim, I have bought Orslow (at fransboone) and while I like them (107 especially), I mostly wear Oni Denim bought from Denimio.com. It’s just the best quality denim I have seen for a reasonable price. I also have Drake’s denim, their fit is just unique, nothing can compare imho. Even...

Archive sale: new lines added, but also price drops for some existing pieces (including for the boucle fleece I had bought right at the start of the sale!!). My luck. At least they have already sent it, and I will receive my parcel this Monday already.

Happy shopping everyone! So, they ship to Europe again, but at a 25 euro fee. No refunds. Hesitated a bit before pressing the pay now button, but in the end I did. Unfortunately no balmacaans, or other coats. Not a fan of the ones listed.

I’ve decided to part ways with my PoW raglan, in favour of something I will wear more often. Like a grey herringbone raglan. Which can also do double duty for more formal work clothing. Anyone here with experience of the new double breasted one? Weight of the fabric, true to size? I remember...
