Home Made Sausage, Cured, and Smoked Meats

It’s a specific marinade, that includes achiote paste, and then pork cooked gyro style. Yeah, pic was a hot mess. Here’s the ribs after smoking but before I slathered with the reserved marinade to finish in the oven.

Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

I feel like pB here...phucking leak under the kitchen sink that I'm sure involves our RO filter. *sigh* Guess who'll be calling a plumber tomorrow?

Home Made Sausage, Cured, and Smoked Meats

Four hours of smoke, now back into the reserved marinade, basted, covered with foil and two hours at 250 in the oven. Since one rib fell apart I needed to taste. Holy phuck. If this becomes a thing remember ol' Piob came up with it.

Home Made Sausage, Cured, and Smoked Meats

Having folks over and just put three racks of St. Louis cut ribs down to smoke. The marinade is al pastor. I don't usually try new things for company but this seems like a no brainer.

St. Andrews and The Shelter. The shows I saw there. Everyone from Tool to Soundgarden to Type O Negative. Eminem got his start at The Shelter.

Mrs. Piob has told me more than once that she doesn't even want to visit Florida.

That sounds reasonable as I was drawing my conclusion based on the states.

Is it just me or did that top ten of that list skew MAGA?

Those tile ceilings were like for the fancy basements growing up. Much more common was an old area rug on concrete floors (with a shower type drain visible somewhere) and a couple old pieces of furniture, probably to include book shelves made of cinder blocks and 2x10s or milk crates, and...

Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

Upkeep and cap-ex should certainly be part of a rental's pricing model but I think the point is certainty vs. uncertainty. Rent is rent, with predictable pricing increases and very low cost barrier to moving on if rent becomes untenable. With housing both general upkeep and cap-ex can come with...

When our fridge crapped out last summer, I too wanted the Bosch 800, and had to pass for the exact same reason. Phucking Krauts!!

Talking stocks, trading, and investing in general

Another thought is to fill next year's spend bucket this year. That way you have lots of time to plan and would know ahead of time next year a big trip isn't going to happen. In the next four years we also have planned all kinds of mundane things in prep, like getting the house painted, the...

This is known as Sequence of Return Risks, or SORR. It can indeed hobble a retirement. My solution is the thought historically peak-trough-peak of most bear markets is under three years. Have enough dividend/interest/other (i.e. rent) investments you can easily weather a three year run without...

Something for the Boomers to remember: if the spouse dies you have a calendar year to sell, still get the deceased spouse's cap gains exemption, plus 50% of the value of the house gets the step up in basis.
