No, I didn't look at the X5 at all. I figured I'd rather have the best X3 than the worst X5. The best X5 was out of my budget. Also, I bought the 2004 in late October when the 2005 model was already out and in the dealers so I got a really good deal on it. The price was pretty comparable to other SUVs of similar size even though it's a BMW. Like I said in that other thread, I had to get an SUV because of my height and the fact that I find cars to be very uncomfortable. I do a lot of driving so comfort is paramount.

Smart fourtwo! Excellent. Funnily enough I saw one last Satursay if I recall correctly on I-10. They are not for sale in the USA so it must have been a test mule.
