The England side's youth really showed both in the speed with which they started (which was great) and the way in which they gradually succumbed to tougher and more experienced outfit. That said, if they had scored the 2 or 3 goals they should have done in the first half then they might have managed it.

The final is going to be excellent. Both are very well-organised sides. Both have flair players. It's going to be tight. But I think France will win - as I said way back, I think they are the Germany of this tournament - even when they play badly they seem to do enough to win. And I think, looking at the England game, Croatia's backline is vulnerable to speed, which France most definitely have with Mbappé and Pavard and more. Sterling caused Croatia all kinds of problems, and Mbappé is like Sterling but with more skill.
