Casino.

I'd never wear it, but DeNiro pulls it off quite well.

In no particular order...

- A Single Man (directed by Tom Ford, there is an incredibly strong aestheticism at work here, although - surprisingly - he didn't do wardrobe for the film)

- In The Mood For Love (sumptuous visuals, with mysterious, brandless, period authentic suiting. If one loves Fellini, they'll get a kick out of this)

- La Grande Bellezza (almost all of the costume design involves Attolini, Boglioli, Tod's. Europeans again showing an unparalleled attention to detail)

- The Darjeeling Limited (file under "best movie for classic luggage inspo" thread)

- Le Plein Soleil (the better dressed, better acted version of 'The Talented Mr Ripley', a trad/prep blogger's wet dream)

..I've got a few more kicking around in my brain that I'll post when I think them up.

I would add [humbly by the way]

American Gigolo (sort of put Giorgio Armani on the map in USA at least)... perhaps not classic menswear as reflective of the 80's but truly great clothes that were very well integrated with the scenes, with GA on set.

Down With Love
with Ewan MacGregor set in the 1960's... loved the menswear in this one.

My vote, too. Especially Cary Grant in "To Catch a Thief."
