I'll rant about Dainites until the day I die. I don't know what they're good for. They are like skates on ice, and wet smooth surfaces. Sure, they can perform well on pavements and grass. But so can leather soles. Yeah, they're thin and appropriate in look for dressier footwear. But so is...

I've found that AE "flaws" occur across the board, in terms of their models. Take a look at MacNeils in shell. They all seem to curl in the same spots, despite the variety of owners and their walking styles, gait, etc.

I also fit into a variety of sizes, depending on the last. Some vintage American pairs I can fit into 9E, 9EE... the key is to remain flexible and keep trying.

I've been culling my herd. Mostly removing pairs that don't really fit and any doubles or triples... but your post has been an epiphany. I need to buy the pairs in my size. You're a leader through and through.

Wow, you also fit into 8.5eee? If you ever hate this pair, let me know.

I'm totally bragging. But it's the truth. I'm usually the best dressed in court. Even with robes, when everyone should look the same, my shoe game always gives me the advantage on the sartorial front. Now whether looking sharp has ever won the day for one of my clients - I'll say I doubt it...

Friends, I have a bunch of boots and shoes (including some shell pairs) that I've consigned through @mariusscott. Feel free to make an offer. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?sid=scotkinvintage&_pgn=1&isRefine=true&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l49496

We went through a hot spell, so I was in sandals for a few days. Weekend forecast of course, is cooler temps and rain. Thought I'd try to bring some sunshine with this solar powered piece and Golden Harvests. No dice. Rainy all morning. Martin Sugg rebuilt these with JR soles and toe taps...

$800 for Aldo?????? Wow. I wouldn't even pay that much for AE. Maybe Alden shell. I'll just walk over to see Ivor Woolridge and pick up a pair of well made English branded shoes then. That really blows my mind.

I'm completely baffled why BB would turn to Aldo to make some shoes for them. Any shoes. Perhaps I'm totally out of touch, but I tend to think people who shop at BB don't wear Aldo level shoes. Many years ago, Allen Edmonds, Alden, and some finer English brands made footwear for BB. I guess...

Have you ever had eel? A few Chinese restaurants serve steamed eel in black bean sauce. You have to try it.

I've learned not to respond to stupid people and their stupid questions. It's a waste of time to even consider it.

Honestly, I'm used to it. Even at my childrens' school, the other kids make fun of my work. One smart aleck asked me how it feels to hose people who are vulnerable. I had to laugh and simply responded that I get to wear nice shoes.
