I mentioned them above my list! Coral Bark and Bloodgood are the easiest for So-Cal. Emperor 1 w/ some attention. Mikawa Yatsubasa grows well, as does Kuranai-jishi and Shishigashira. Not sure what's down there but could visit the Huntington or Storrier Stearns Japanese gardens in Pasadena for inspiration. I think you definitly need a pine somewhere. I'm always a fan of azaleas. Been experimenting w/ flips. This is a Porto Flip (whole egg, Pierre Ferrande Cognac, 20 Year Tawny Port). Got some nice foam. Couple glass by Kimura Glass of Tokyo. First iteration I would describe as actually very good.- ValidusLA
