*SOLD* Vintage Enicar "Garnix" Ref. 2303 chronograph watch

*SOLD* Vintage Enicar "Garnix" Ref. 2303 chronograph watch

Color
  1. Black
  2. Grey
Selling a vintage Enicar “Garnix” reference 2303 chronograph in phenomenal, new-old-stock condition. If you're not familiar with the watch, Tony Traina (now of Hodinkee) has a great article from his previous blog Rescapement all about the mysterious "Garnix" watch which you can check out here.

The watch still has the original purple seal out of the factory, and the case appears to be unpolished. The watch is nearly mint, with only very faint scratches visible on the pusher side of the watch, otherwise it still has the original polish. The dial and hands are likewise in excellent unmarked, unblemished condition, though the lume has aged to a great creamy yellow. The manual Valjoux 72 chronograph movement is running strong, and the chronograph is functioning as expected, starting and resetting crisply to 12 o’clock. The hands are the less often seen paddle version, with bright orange tips. The lume is still intact and the colors on the dial are vivid. The dial color is a mix of the original black and charcoal but not as faded as other Garnixes I’ve seen. The one note is that the strap has crumbled.and will need to be replaced, though it still has the original Enicar buckle. I hope the watch will go to someone who will appreciate an Enicar in such good original condition.
