I’m looking for a hair product that has a very strong hold, but won’t lock up on me after only a minute of application. I know it’s not long enough yet, but my spiking glue sets up way to quick. By the time I get the comb up to my hair, put it halfway in place, and just pick up the hair dryer, I have to fight the comb out of it most mornings. I want the hold of the spiking glue but enough flexibility to get my hair in place and dried all the way. Shown here is what my hair does now and what I want it to do when it gets long enough.

A quick guide on some hair products that might assist you:

Paste
-Medium hold/light shine when applied to dry hair, High hold medium shine when applied to damp hair
-adds texture to short/medium hair
-good for thin hair when hair is dry and gives volume
-good for all hair lengths
-wont clump
-can be restyled throughout the day

Fiber/Mud/Putty
-High hold/no shine
-good for thick hair
-apply when hair is dry
-think texturized "bed head"
-good for short to medium hair

Clay
-Medium hold/low shine when applied to dry hair, high hold medium shine when applied to damp hair
-versatile
-adds more texture than paste, but is less touchable/re-workable throughout the day
-adds body and thickness to the hair by separating the strands
-good medium between gel and paste
-stickier version of pomade with a firmer hold
-draws out impurities and dirt from the hair without stripping oil
-nourishes hair
