How do I make my hair look like this?

I have a full head of hair, albeit straight and I want to give it that rich, textured look like this. Any ideas how it would be achieved please chaps? My best attempts usually end up either as a fluffy bouffant, or a hard slick.

Try this

You can keep working your hands through this all day, but it doesn't go away. I've used it for years, and should work great for what you're looking for. Start small and work your way up to find the right amount to use. It's a firm waxy paste, so it's not going to give you a wet slick back look. Great for texture. I use it after I blow dry, but you can also use it with towel dried hair, and kind of break it up after you air dry.

It arrived this morning, so plan to test drive it later. It's a very small pot for £23... but if I like it I will buy the larger one. I am interested to see whether the premium price is reflected in the performance.

It's pricey, but not too crazy for quality hair product.
I first found it when I was in Rome.
I ran out of hair stuff, and was walking by a really nice salon so I went in.
The owner talked with me a bit, stuck their hands in my hair, and recommended the Kevin Murphy. We've been together ever since.

Ok first impressions are that I like it.

It’s a different look from anything I have tried before. It highlights my grey and breaks up the hair. It looks classy if that makes sense.

Hold isn’t brilliant. I did a light cardio session at the gym today and looked like a mop afterwards. That was with a bit of VO5 strong hold hair spray on too.

I have been wary of expensive hair products, due to salons selling me stuff in the past that was no better than cheap alternatives. But this does seem to be different.

I also think Kevin Murphy hair products are worth the money. I've been using them for several years now and really like how they work.

OK having used Night Rider for a couple of weeks I quite like it, but not enough to buy more I don't think. My hair is plentiful but quite fine and it tends to flop. The NR texturises it but needs the support of something more sticky to keep my hair in check.
