Hello gents!
I turn to this forum as a new member, with a question. I need help and tips on how I can match my black smoking with this beautiful turquoise dress for a ball.
I have met suggestions with simply having a same coloured bow tie but I'm not sure. Please hit me with suggestions! Thanks in advance.

I would avoid any effort to "match." Evening wear for men is black and white or midnight navy and white. Colored bow ties and the like are generally tacky.

Seconded. And, OP, are you going to be wearing a smoking jacket or a tuxedo/DJ?

Thanks for the answer! My ball date however insists that we match in some way, perhaps the voice of a woman overweighs the voice of style? Most likely not.

I will be wearing a smoking jacket.

Maybe not, but it's a a silly point to stake your ground on. How about a complementary pocket square? I feel that there is the greatest latitude there.

Pocket square sounds good. Total black and white smoking with a turqoise pocket square it is!
