As a Knicks fan and Dolan hater - unfortunate that KD got injured, but don't hate this move. It's a fairly big gamble, and at the least, KD will be out for an entire year.

It’s not, KD is a top5 player in this league and in his prime. Dominique Wilkins was older and more reliant on athletism than KD ever was when he tore his achilles and still he returned strong as ever like 30 years ago with 1/10 of medicare you get now.

I’m not saying Durant wont be the same, but it is a huge gamble given the significance of the achilles injury.

Durant is younger and can shoot over people with ease. Even if he loses some explosiveness it won’t bother him as much as guy like Elton Brand. Kobe was already old, so was Billups. If shithole like NY has a chance to sign Durant they should take it imo.

I feel that Dolan values $ as much as he values winning. Maybe more. MSG Co(Knicks) makes money. Seats are some of the most expensive in the NBA. Dolan ain't stressing signing KD.

I think it will prove to be a big mistake, but we just have to wait and see how Durant performs in the next 3-4 years
