Was in Mexico City this past week.

Had a tarragon pastry on a whim at Panadería Rosetta. Holy fúck I think it was the best pastry I’ve ever eaten.

You’d think it would be savory, but it was an actually sweet. A sweet flaky pastry flavored with tarragon.

**** that thing was good. Went there 3 days in a row. Everyone goes for the guava pastry, but they are missing out.

Anyone have a good lead on woks? Looking to purchase as gift.

Does Costco have anything worth looking into? Read mixed reviews about Hexclad.

I don’t mind spending a reasonable amount as this person loves to cook.

I wouldn't get a non-stick wok, especially if you're actually doing wok-style high heat cooking.

All you really need is carbon steel. I got this one on recommendation from either Serious Eats or J Kenji Lopez Alt (which are basically the same), and it's been solid.

Easy to season, easy to clean, and you can beat the hell out of it. Not super impressive as a gift, but it's a wok.

Make sure you know whether they need a flat bottom or not. Basically unless they have an Eastern style wok burner they'll need flat bottom.

Way late to the discussion, but I got that wok as a gift this year! Mine is the version with two side handles, but otherwise the same. Pretty happy with it overall.

What's the serving size on that?

Two things about this.

When I took that picture, some 10-13 year old kid came to see what I was taking a picture of and started laughing. I said “I know right?” and also started laughing. His mom shot a look at me and just grabbed him and said “let’s go”.

Second thing, I was picturing giving some to someone that does not know that word means chicken flavored seasoning and then have them say something like “0That’s not what it tastes like!”
