Thanks Lee.

That is the spproach taken.

Wool & Prince and Bluffeorks are travel brands, using the materials developed for the hiking community for “city” clothes.

The Hopsack blazer is specifically for travel, no crease, machine or hand wash, fast dry, lots of internal pockets. It just looks dreadful.

All the shirts, undershirt Ts, undies and socks are in Merino.

The slip on are specifically for Japan due to routine taking off / putting on of shoes. Have some Chelsea boots for bigger walking days.

The only things not specifically for travel are the blazer I am actually taking and the rain coat.

Anyway, heading to the airport in an hour so we will just have see how it goes.

That’s for taking the time to comments, we are thinking alike here. This is where I have ended up via pursuing what you have suggested.
Have a safe and exciting trip.

Hi!
I take light walking shoes, these are sneakers, sneakers or light boots. very comfortable without laces
Thin short sleeve shirts that will also be suitable for warmer days, Polo shirt, stylish and comfortable. A lightweight windbreaker or rain jacket that can be easily packed and can also be used to protect against wind and rain.

What are some great, high quality and comfortable sneakers people like?
I struggle with this because while plain white shoes look good like Common Projects or similar, they're not great for all day walking around.
Running shoes are great for walking around all day but they're running shoes - they don't have a casual aesthetic you might.

I was looking at Lanvin as an option for this specific purpose. Open to suggestions.

I'd go with Rothy's men's city slip on:

Great for walking, very durable, and comfortable with or without socks. You might want to replace the insole with something with arch support though. They used to have them in navy and black, and you can still find some on eBay, etc. They run tts, imo.

If you'd prefer a lace up, they also have a GAT-like sneaker in many colors: https://rothys.com/collections/mens-rs01-sneaker
