Choosing between two suits with different fit

Hello everyone,
I’m attending a wedding this summer and I need a suit for the occasion. I have two suits to choose from but I’m unsure which, if any, suits me.

I’ve tried taking pictures to show you how they fit (yes, I know the shirt should have been ironed).

To explain the pictures, the rule is:

1. Blue suit on the left, and black suit on the right.
2. When there are three pictures, one is of the blue suit (left) and two are of the black suit (right).
3. When there are four pictures, two are of the blue suit (left) and two are of the black suit (right). The first picture has the jacket open and the second picture has the jacket closed.

I appreciate your guidance. I’m new to suits and I appreciate tips from you on what to look for.

Thanks in advance for your response!

Both of them are too tight and too short for you. The black one in particular is ridiculously short.
I understand this how young men wear their suits today, so if you're forced to chose one, then the blue is slightly better but not by much.

IMO a suit is an aesthetic designed to compliment and accentuate certain features of the male figure, just as a dress is designed to do the same for the female figure.

If you want to tap to this aesthetic and not just wear something someone labeled as a suit, you need to learn a bit about this aesthetic.

This is a good starting point: https://putthison.com/understanding-a-suits-silhouette-its-common-to/

This is something a bit more hands-on: https://thehelmclothing.com/blogs/editorial/14446353-top-10-signs-you-re-in-a-poor-fitting-suit

I second what SteveMc said. Suit is way, way too tight. Jacket is short. Trouser rise far too low. Trouser are so tight they can't drape cleanly.

Thank you for the great response, SteveMc!

May I ask how you see that the blue one is too short? I feel like it's bunched up over the shoe, and the sleeve length is so long that the shirt disappears on the arms.

Again, thanks for the helpful guidance.

Also just noticed the lapels on the blue suit are super narrow. Here's a decent reference fit.

Also don't worry about jacket sleeve length - you can get them shortened

The jacket is too short in the body. Not as much as the black jacket, but at a minimum it should cover your rear and visually bisect
your body.

The trousers are bunching up mostly because they are too slim to hang cleanly; they are catching on your legs. Because they are so slim, they also make you look unbalanced and top-heavy.
