Awesome.
I’d love to smell that leather oud.
Electimuss sounds like a professor at Hogwarts.
A lot of people complain about the animalic aspects of Leather Oud, but I really don't think it's that dirty at all. To my nose, Dior's oud accord seems to be mostly about smoky wood--at least here and in Oud Ispahan and Oud Rosewood.

Electimuss Black Caviar actually reminds me a lot of Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale, except with more aromatic complexity.

Are you sure it’s discontinued? I swung past the galeries Lafayette to pick something up with my girlfriend two days ago, on the way out I stopped by the SL counter and distinctly remember them having Arabie on display…

it’s been super hot in Paris the last few days, so I’ve mostly been wearing Azemour les orangers from Parfum d’empire, and Guerlain Mitsouko edp (recent bottle) and Philtre d’Amour (discontinued phallic bottle citrussy with nice Cchypre base). Might wear French Lover tomorrow, works well in the heat and it’s been a while

Another grey and miserable day today, I almost welcome such days during the brutal summer months here.

I went for Serge Lutens Arabie, which I don't wear much for a few reasons; one, it is discontinued (irrational fear of running out), and two, I really have to be in the mood for it. I love how closely it resembles the overall character of Arabic cuisines. There's such a great use of anise and dry fruits that almost comes across as boozy in the classiest way ever (I consider boozy fragrances to be generally gross and tacky). I recall really hating what I perceived to be a curry note, but it isn't nearly as pronounced as I remember, unlike in Ambre Sultan. Sometimes, I feel like I am wasting this fragrance when I wear it, but I just cannot help it when the mood strikes.

About wasting fragrance, living life and not using the fragrances and making memories with them is a much bigger waste honestly. A full bottle is empty of memories and of how its meant to be used. You cant bring the bottles with you once you're gone.
That's similar to my thoughts about clothing and fragrances: if you're always waiting for a special occasion, eventually you'll realize that you never got to appreciate something as much as you might have because there just weren't enough special occasions. Wear it now. Enjoy it now.

How is it? I saw it has black cavair notes but.... does it really?

I am wearing Acqua de Gio Profumo. Rainy and warm--this is basically what is called for.

It's been a while since I've had black caviar, so I'm not sure, but I can kind of see what people mean, I think. Really, I like it because it's an aquatic but with a lot more going on than something like Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale. It's an easy wear in the summer and can dress up or down pretty easily.

Caviar is a vaguely briny, salty type thing. Some minerality to it, too.

Today is Chef's Table. I'm amazed at how something this unconventional still works so well in the office.
