I bought a landcruiser Prado 120 for my woodsy activities. Wanted something larger to be able to bring a friend or family and this one popped up close by.

Will need to switch some stuff out and add some gadgets, so it’ll be a project for the coming months. First up is the audio, as I want android with a large screen to be able to use the thermal cam wirelessly on it for wild boar nights. At the same time the carpenter is building a gun drawer for the boot. After that it’s probably switching out the fabric interior for leather, but I’ll see when I finish up the first steps.

Then it’s a winch and a led bar up front, and maybe a wrap as it’s currently light grey and would be better in a darker color.

Not surprised but still appalled:

Automakers Are Sharing Consumers’ Driving Behavior With Insurance Companies
LexisNexis, which generates consumer risk profiles for the insurers, knew about every trip G.M. drivers had taken in their cars, including when they sped, braked too hard or accelerated rapidly.

That's effed up.

That said, my friend insists that the Tesla insurance, which uses integrated real-time driving behavior monitoring, has made his wife a significantly better driver.

You can see a new safety score after every drive, and it directly tells you how much extra your bad driving is costing you in insurance premiums.

Of course Tesla is very up front about what they are doing there...it is voluntary, not the car company giving away information to third parties.

(And yes, I know for some of you these metrics are non-starters...but for someone who is just driving their appliance to the daycare and not doing any intentional "spirited" driving, a bad score means you are a bad driver)

Front seats in the R3 are confirmed to fold completely flat just like the R2. This is a great feature more makers should add.

This is what happens when you have the lifestyle without the vehicle. My old Geo Metro put up with a lot of s—t. This was at Sierra-at-Tahoe nearly twenty years ago.

No picture, but did the same with my 2008 Honda Fit within a month of driving it off the dealer lot. Practiced installing the chains at home which paid off when it dumped snow and I had to install on the side of I-80.

Yeah, people are still seeing quality issues on the Model S and that’s been out for years. Tesla makes garbage cars and people need to stop excusing them.
