Netflix instant movie suggestions

My wife and I are both frustrated by Netflix streaming. Hate that once you watch something it keeps popping up. Also, there really aren't many classic movies.

Selection seems to be getting worse with time? More focus on original content, maybe.

I have been debating cancelling my membership and I've had it since like 2007 or something.

You might be paying more per month if you decide to start back up. I'm not sure if they are going to be gentle with us current subscribers during their next rate hike or treat us like dirty bastards.
Amazon prime and Netflix use to compliment each other but now they have almost the same material available for streaming. I actually picked up hulu, which has been nice since Disney bought it.

I wrapped Making of a Murderer last night as well. Very interesting. Not sure it needed to be 10 episodes, although I suppose I am glad it was. They had a lot of footage, and I am glad they shared it as opposed to leaving more on the cutting room floor than they already did.

Agreed, there were a lot of sad things about it. Goes into similar territory as The Jinx from HBO as well as the Michael Morton story (if you haven't read An Innocent Man parts 1 & 2, I would highly recommend it). There have also been some interesting Frontline pieces that look into the criminal justice system / false confessions / questionable science and evidence / government corruption if this kind of thing is your bag (The Confessions, Death By Fire, A Death in St. Augustine). Frontline episodes are all available in their entirety on the PBS website.

Ep 10 was devastating. Watching the attorneys from Northwestern come in and expose in such a clear, concise way exactly how corrupt the process was and still get nothing done was chilling. Side note, Avery's dad has a nice garden...gorgeous Kholrabies.

I'll add that much of the greatness of the series was, to be honest, the 10 hours of being a fly on the wall with rural farm people that otherwise I would never know a thing about. Sort of reminded me of Hoop Dreams in that way.

I just wished they got more interviews from the prosecution side. I understand that they declined to participate in the documentary (except for Dassey's first attorney, which I guess can qualify as part of the prosecution team...) but that's too bad because I would have liked the perspective of some of those people more clearly articulated.

I'm not familiar enough with the legal system to know who Ken Kraetz would report to, but yeah, I'd like to see that person talk.

He had no issues giving multiple interviews (to People, WaPo) after the documentary was released - but he declined to participate in it.

He's now a private sector lawyer with his own practice so he is removed from the DA chain of command at this point
