Happy Wednesday forum pals. Day 3 of plain toe week. Moving away from the Florsheims today with a Hanover.

BTW, there is an identical NOS pair of these in 11B on Ebay for $89.

Darn it, I couldn't resist this one. My wife will be thrilled about more incoming shoes!! Of course, I don't have any brown PTBs, so surely this is an essential purchase.

AE shell MacNeil from 1988. The color variation and natural patina on these is mesmerizing- better than any other pair of shell I own.

Glad you picked them up. A great shoe value for your collection. Post pictures when they arrive.

Come the think of it I have a pair of AE Saratogas, unworn for decades
They no longer really fit because my feet became a bit wider possibly due
to jogging 20-30 miles/week from the 70s through the late 90s. Mine
look like these:

Any experience with Bick 4?

That's the next step. Light coats of Bick 4 until it won't absorb more, being careful not to apply too much so the finish doesn't get dull and tacky. If you overdo it, strip with renomat and start over.

These are a vintage violation, but they're just so awesome I figured you all would enjoy a look at them. This pair of Alden shell wingtip boots were on Ebay at a very fair price, so I bought them for work.

Sometimes my job involves walking on wet stainless steel surfaces in and around airplanes, so I had my cobbler Steve from Odessa put these grippy commando soles on over the solid original ones.
IMG_0519.jpeg

They're roomy, which works well since I'm walking around all the time and wear two pairs of socks for comfort. I already have a pair just like them in a D width, but these are for industrial use.

Turns out they were made in Spain, seemingly a custom order after 80s. I would consider buying them if they fit my feet, sadly they don't..

I’m considering making an offer on these, but I admittedly don’t know much about vintage Weyenberg. They look like killer shoes and the price is amazing for gator. Would like to hear if anyone has thoughts on the shoes and the brand. View attachment 2082685

I bought and returned those. They are not real crocodile/alligator. They are alligator grain embossed on calfskin. See here:
