The Longwings arrived: 7.5US E.
Im super happy with the quality and comfort! Probably the best looking longwing interpretation out there!

I am wondering which EEE size I could go with for more width while keeping the length of the shoe about the same. Apparently with EEE the length increases as well at the same size. So a 7.5 E is shorter than 7.5 EEE.

So has anyone tried this going half a size or even a full size smaller but width EEE

I have had the same situation. Go with the 7.5 EEE. Yes it may add some length, but does not effect the fit in the way you think. The heel to ball length stays the same while giving the extra width. The minimal length is at the toe of the boot and is for the overall look. It would look off if the extra width wasn't accompanied by the small bit of length.

Foto above is 7.5 E … Would You go with 7 EEE?

The thing is, I have a slim heel low step. Essentially, the widest part of my foot is my toes, essentially the west part of my foot.

Also, what could be an option is possibly 8E or 8D which would potentially give a little bit more room to my toes width wise.

So these are the possible scenarios:
(Foto shoes 7.5US E)
my foot is 25 cm brannock 7.5 US EE width

1. I go with 8US E or 8 D

2. … 7 EEE (but no idea what happens to the waist, heel and instep vs 7.5 E)

3. 6.5US EEE (may be too short?)

I am aware of the importance of heel to ball but I am almost 8US heel to ball… though with short toes.

This is what the 7EEE will be like. The heel will be larger and I thought it might be a problem since I could tell immediately. I did not have excessive heel slip and after some time the heel molded to mine. I tried going up one size as well in my search for that perfect fit, but when I went up a size it extended the widest part of the boot further down and had an opposite effect. The wide part of my foot was on the slant towards the widest part of the boot. If the 7.5 e isn't too short in length, I would try going up in width.
This is just my experience and no 2 feet are the same. I hope my experience helps you a bit in your search for that perfect size.

In this photo it looks like the wide part of your foot is right there before/at the wide part of the boot. If you went to an 8 anything, your foot would be further back on the slant to the wide part of the boot. Hope that makes sense.

I never would've thought of it myself--taking a picture from inside a shoe with a smartphone. 12D veg tanned Diesels. Snug, but not what I'd call tight with wafer thin socks. I just got finished ordering a pair of the Ottawas in natural Minerva that are on sale but this time I went with 12E. We'll see how that works.

How did it go? How does the E width look on the inside now for comparison
