I was referring to my wanting to alter the shape of the toe for future orders. To do so they just needed to add some leather to the tip of the last. They wanted me to do a plastic try-on for that as well (and the price for the plastics was around €350 IIRC).

Well, I found it amusing and declined. In Paris they have this menu of sorts that list prices for everything.

I heard that JLP charges something like $350 for flush metal toe plates to be installed.

^I don't recall the price to have plates installed post delivery, but a resole is north of a $1,000....

FWIW, I have heard that a stingray whole cut can't be made larger than a certain shoe size because large stingray hides are few and far between.

They'll definitely be party shoes - worn with something like dark grey velvet trousers and a dark navy peak lapel one button jacket. The shoes are midnight blue verging on black so hopefully won't be too gangsterish.
