Unwaxed versions of waxed jackets
Sorry should've been clearer
Lightweight Beaufort or Bedale SL would be the best choice.

Unwaxed versions of waxed jackets

I believe they're known as jackets 😉Unwaxed versions of waxed jackets

The Sylkoil is usually distinguished from the waxed cotton "Thornproof" material although that too can be waxed when reproofed.Hi guys,
I am looking for the no wax version Barbour jacket? I am wondering what’s the correct keyword for it if I want to do a search on google or eBay? Tried “ no wax” but it doesn’t work.
Yes, Encore, in fact, there is one type of warmer zip-in liners. It had been made by Barbour for some time in the past for the Japanese market - Barbour SL Wool Liner (MLI0038xxxx). These liners are made reversible: one side of poly and another of 100% wool. You can find them on Ebay or Japanese trading platforms. I myself own one and it definitely makes my Bedale quite warmer.Any recommendations on the zip-in liners? Are they all the same or are any of them better/warmer than the others?
Wasn't aware of these! The more you know.Yes, Encore, in fact, there is one type of warmer zip-in liners. P.S. Sorry, Purplelabel, i didn't mean to question your authority - just for the sake of enlightenment and warmth.
Thank you for your kind response. As mentioned in my original question, I was looking for the correct keyword in a search for the unwaxed jacket. As you can imagine, if you search with keyword "jacket", waxy jacket will also show upI believe they're known as jackets 😉
You'd already had a useful answer from someone else. I was being silly rather than unkind. Don't be so sensitive.Thank you for your kind response. I was actually clarifying as I thought you misunderstand my question and may have an answer. But if you think I am being sensitive and tried to be ironic, I can’t justify either. You'd already had a useful answer from someone else. I was being silly rather than unkind. Don't be so sensitive.
For me it's just easier in winter to keep a liner zipped in and it adds nice bulk to the jacket. It's really just a convenience thing and one less thing I have to remember when rushing out the door. I like the zip liner but concede that you certainly can wear layers instead.Never really seen the point of the zip in liners. They're basically an overpriced low quality gilet that barbour uses to bolster their profits. Why do you need it to zip in? Just buy a better gilet for less money and wear it underneath.
Question on Beaufort Sporting Jackets?
Can find that version on the website or web.it has reinforced patches at shoulders and elbows
Curious if anyone knows more about when they were made and specifications?
Thank you! Appreciate that intel! I picked up one second hand. When it arrives I’ll post up some pictures of the actual jacket! Was looking for something to walk the fields around the house with dogs but did not want something in the standard line.Mid 2000s I believe and they were just standard Beauforts with some extra wax added.
Yeah that will do the trick for sure. great pickup.Thank you! Appreciate that intel! I picked up one second hand. When it arrives I’ll post up some pictures of the actual jacket! Was looking for something to walk the fields around the house with dogs but did not want something in the standard line.
