What is the general advise about sizing with Jamieson's Shetlands? Size up 1 from chest size?

I'm a size 38" and measurements on their website shows that a size 40" is pretty similar to Drake's shetlands in size Medium.
I recently bought a Jamiesons fair isle cardigan from End in size 42 (XL on tag) and it was at least two sizes too small for me across the chest as well as having very short sleeves and short body length. Had to return it and pay €17 for the privilege as I’m in Ireland. Awful pity as I really liked it!

Not inexpensively. I had a drake's beanie but found it thin (personal pref), in comparison to my several Inis Meain chunky cashmere & merino beanies. They're pricey, but have held up well over years, and are VERY comfortable.
I second Inis Meain. Very comfy, good fit (I have a large head) and not scratchy.

Bit of a stretch, I know, but this vest from Manufactum:

reminded me (in broad terms, it's a bit longer in the back and all natural fibers...) of this one by Drake's:

I’m a 40/50 in nearly every tailoring item that I own and take a size L (42) in Jamiesons and the fit is great.

Has anyone had success in identifying the maker of the Drake's Chore Coats? I'm having trouble finding a similar styling and unfortunately the pricing on the Drake's makes it unobtainum for me.

Especially struggling to find something similar in length which seems to help move a chore coat from workwear to office appropriate territory.

My wish list - 30-31 inch length on a medium, navy blue, heavier the fabric the better.

Pretty sure Drake's chores (and overshirts, etc.) are made in their own shirt factory in England, so your not going to find the exact pieces sold under a different brand (like shoes, or Shetland knits)

However, a quick search of this thread:
What's a good chore coat if I don't want to spend that Drake's money but looking for a similar style?

Community clothing
Vetra
le laboureur (quite a bit more workweary)
A bunch of British indie makers have some (Pajotten, carrier company...)

No idea who makes Drakes chore jackets, but I’m keen to know myself.

I’ve just looked at Drakes length, which is listed at 29.25” on a 40” chest.

Vétra, who I think makes quite nice looking jackets, has the length at 28 - 28.5” for approximately £300 less.

What’s 0.75 inch worth to you?

Drake's Chores are made in Portugal.

So far I have not found a maker who comes close - if you want a longer jacket. Vetra and Le MontSt.Michel have pretty tight sleeves, but are longer in the body than, let's say Pajotten. I really like Pajotten as a brand, but their chore design is very short (for my taste, as I understand it is based on a vintage chore coat). But they do made to order, so maybe you could ask for a longer body length.

Portugese Flannel might work, if you size up.

But to be honest, I got the heavy twill Drake's chore and it was worth it. The fabric, the pockets (so many on a Drake's Chore) the little details... everything just right. If you want to pay less, you will probably have to compromise quite a lot.

you can probably find one second hand in great condition for a decent price.

Thanks! I have caught and released chore jackets from the French makers as I found sizing a struggle.

I hear ya on the compromise. There's a lot of instances where their items are white labelled so I thought I'd check. Ultimately, I might just need to save my pennies for a used Drake's!

Any leads on who makes the hiking t-shirts? They're apparently manufactured in Portugal but a search reveals no makers with similar collar stitching or that center seam on the back which appears on some of them. I love the fit but can't justify tees at those prices.

Just got my first pair of Games trousers last week.

They're beautiful, but sadly the rear rise is an inch shorter than I like. (I am 6' and have a fairly long torso) I'll keep these but I'm not sure I'll invest in another pair.

My intention was to eventually invest in some OTR suiting from Drake's, but given the Games trousers are HIGHER rise than the suiting, I assume they will not work with my body.

Can anyone recommend some OTR or MTM suiting with similar, soft Italian silhouettes? It seems Anglo Italian nails the look as well, but I was hoping to find something a bit more affordable for my first shot at MTM.

Cheers
